A File Manager is a web-based interface that allows you to manage the files in a website hosting account as an alternative to a third-party FTP program. Each File Manager tool supports a fundamental set of features no matter the web hosting CP it is a part of - renaming, moving and deleting files or whole folders along with all the info in them, for instance. Based on the particular CP, other functions can be supported too, including changing file permissions, managing archives or modifying the content of a specific file. Through an easy-to-use File Manager, you can very easily manage your files and your presence online as a whole, while a hard-to-use one may make managing your content annoying, especially if you haven't used such a tool before.

File Manager in Cloud Hosting

The File Manager tool, that is a part of our in-house developed Hepsia CP, will enable you to administer all of the files that you upload to your cloud hosting account easily. You can move files and whole folders by dragging-and-dropping them within the account. You can easily upload content in the same manner - choose a file/folder on your PC and drag it to your browser where the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder in your account, you can also access context menus with more advanced options - you shall be able to create or to unpack an archive, to set up a password-protected area, to change the UNIX permissions via a web interface or to change the content with a variety of editors without ever leaving the CP – a plain text editor, a code editor or an HTML editor. We have also included help articles and educational videos, you can access from the File Manager to get more information about its capabilities.

File Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our File Manager tool allows you to do virtually anything you require. It is part of the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all semi-dedicated server accounts and in addition to the standard functions such as renaming, copying or deleting files, you can use right-click menus to access more advanced ones. With a few clicks, you will be able to password-protect any folder inside the account, to modify the UNIX permissions in case a script-based app needs it or to change the content of any file using WYSIWYG editors, plain text and code. Also, you shall no longer require an FTP program to upload new content given that you can just drag-and-drop files and entire folders from your pc straight to the File Manager. The tool shall do the rest, saving the folder structure of the content which you upload.
